Muş Alparslan University, Traditional Sports and Games Application and Research Center operates as a center that aims to bring forgotten and forgotten games back to life. In this context, both the heritage of customs and culture has been transferred to future generations and young people are expected to realize the historical and cultural identity of these games as a sportive activity. As center, we have categorized our work in 2 sections. First of all, while we carry out our activities related to archery, on the other hand, we are trying to unearth the unique games of the geography we live in. For this purpose, at the end of 2018-2019, we assigned our students living in the region to collect data on children's games that are about to be forgotten in their localities. As the director of the center myself, I conducted interviews on this subject in the districts and villages. We will evaluate our report on this subject within the scope of a project.Translated with DeepL.com (free version) It aimed to highlight the historical texture of Muş and its region, which is an ancient city, and manifested as a sportive activity over time by incorporating the concepts of bow and arrow, which is an important donation of war power in the Malazgirt Square Battle, which was won under the leadership of Sultan Alparslan. In our university, it has been determined in our studies that our young people want to involve themselves in this activity with this historical and spiritual responsibility. The necessary trainings of our young people will be provided under the guidance of our licensed teacher and licensed students at our university, and they will proudly represent our university in inter-university competitions as a result of the competitions to be held between departments. In addition, it is among the targeted goals that our young people will actually inhale that atmosphere and participate in the Malazgirt events organized and planned to be organized every year. Archery sport is important for physical education, body awareness, strength, flexibility, coordination and endurance, motor and social skills. It is known that it makes an important contribution to the development of muscle structure and can provide a solution to scoliosis due to the need for upright posture of athletes. While it is indisputable that children's games reflect social culture, it is still debated whether culture creates play or play creates culture. Dutch historian Johan Huizinga, in his work “Homo Ludens”, argued that it was the games played with different understandings that shaped the cultures that proved that play existed before culture. Play is effective in the healthy mental development of every human being. Therefore, the game and the way it is played can be reflected in the characteristic features of the person. The fact that the same game is played differently in different regions can perhaps be explained in this way. Children's play activities and the toys they use are an important part of childhood. However, play, which is extremely important in children's lives, has started to change in terms of shape, form, environment, number of people and necessary tools and equipment as a result of technological developments. Play helps the child to unite his/her inner world with the social world outside. Thus, games and toys specific to that culture are passed down from generation to generation and intangible cultural heritage is preserved. While the imagination and creativity of the child develops with these games, these games will return to us as a rich material thanks to their productivity. These games specific to our culture should be compiled before they are completely lost and these compiled games should be used effectively for children. Muş and its surroundings, which are culturally rich, have many games that children frequently play. All of these games, As a result, our primary goal is to support the youth of Muş Alparslan University in socio-cultural and sports fields and to create the infrastructure to represent our university on national and international platforms and to represent it proudly in this field. In addition, we would like to state that we are always in contact with Muş Alparslan University Faculty of Sports Sciences and Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports and that we carry out some of our work together.
